To encourage student participation in our organization, the Society of Tennessee Archivists is pleased to announce the availability of two student scholarships to the annual meeting, taking place October 8-9 at the University of Memphis. The scholarship awards $500 to each student selected in an effort to offset costs related to the conference, such as lodging, transportation, and food. Student scholarships include a complimentary registration to the conference.
Eligibility
The STA Student Scholarship is open to undergraduate and graduate students in archival and related programs, including public history, history, museum students, and library science. Students must either live in Tennessee or be enrolled in a Tennessee college or university. Recent graduates whose graduation date is within 1 year of the Annual Meeting may also apply.
Application Instructions
To apply, submit the following materials before the September 15, 2026 deadline:
- Cover letter explaining their interest in archives and why attending the conference will benefit the student's current and future career goals
- Resume detailing education and relevant archival experience
- One letter of recommendation from a current or former instructor, employer, or mentor.
The STA Arrangements Committee will review all completed applications and notify the recipient of their award by October 1, 2026.
