The Society of Tennessee Archivists is seeking submissions for the Fall 2026 issue of the Tennessee Archivist newsletter. The newsletter is a place to share the latest news, ideas, activities, and achievements with a community of archivists, cultural heritage, and memory workers from across Tennessee. If you haven’t already, be sure to read the latest issue.

The deadline to submit content is Monday, September 14, 2026.

We want to hear from you! The Tennessee Archivist relies on submissions from members and non-members alike. Consider submitting the following types of content:

    • News & Notes submissions are approximately 150 words in length and are brief announcements to highlight new collections, services, funded projects or personnel changes such as introducing new hires or celebrating career milestones and retirements. News & Notes articles can also announce upcoming events and special programs as well as employment opportunities.
    • Feature Articles are approximately 500-1000 words in length and focus on professional best practice, archivists or other cultural heritage professionals at work in Tennessee, cultural heritage resources in Tennessee, and archival outreach and engagement with the public. Photographs, figures, illustrations, and other relevant images are encouraged.
    • Cover Images showcase your repository's collections on the cover of Tennessee Archivist! Repositories are invited to submit seasonally relevant images from their collections (think holidays, local history anniversaries, seasonal outdoor scenes). Accepted image formats are .jpg and .tiff and should be high resolution (300 dpi or higher). Please include a brief caption and citation.
    • Something else in mind? Let’s make it happen! Contact the Newsletter Editor with your idea.

Please format article submissions as Word documents and attach relevant images (.jpg or .tiff) separately. Contributors must provide alt text for their images, and should include their job title and repository name.

Direct submissions and questions to the Newsletter Editor Molly Copeland at molly-copeland@utc.edu.
